Only three in every 100 Americans donate blood, yet one person can donate as much as six pints of blood per year.
What America needs is more citizens like Al Fischer. The print shop operator from Massapequa, New York, who has been donating blood since the summer of 1951 when he was 17, has to date given 40 gallons of blood. And when asked about his donations, Fischer, who is 75, jokes, “I’m too cheap to give money, so I give blood.”
I donate blood on a regular basis! You should too!

I always try, but with only a 50% success rate. It’s the thought that counts right?
